Senior Lecuturer in Forensic Science

Over the past two days it's been a delight to host the brilliant Dany Green and her Sherlock Bone workshops on Facial Reconstruction for our Year 3 Forensic Science students. This has been the first time in 6 years that our students have been able to experience these excellent workshops in person - it had become a regular enrichment activity before lockdown so it was great to be able to welcome Dany back to LSBU again this year. It's good to be able to offer our students activities outside the taught modules that allow them to engage with experts in different fields and to get some 'hands on' experience. Thanks again Dany, we look forward to having you back next year!

Thanks again for a brilliant workshop, I learnt a lot which will be helpful in my work, and have a much greater appreciation for the incredible human skeleton.

Hull College

Our Applied Science students gained valuable hands-on experience in the world of forensic science.  We were delighted to welcome Dany Green to our Queen's Campus to deliver an insightful Forensic Anthropology and Human Osteology workshop. Working with real human skeletons, students explored professional methods of human identification within forensic anthropology, carefully building biological profiles and demonstrating impressive analytical skills throughout.

Experiences like this play a vital role in developing the knowledge, skills and behaviours needed for future careers in STEM.

Our Barnfield College Science learners stepped into the world of real-life forensics with Sherlock Bones, led by the incredible Dany Green!

Over the three full-day workshops, students immersed themselves in:

  • Forensic Anthropology
  • Crime Scene Investigation
  • Facial Reconstruction

Each session gave our learners a hands-on, first-hand insight into the fascinating world of science. They were fully engaged, enthusiastic, and eager to apply what they learned directly to their units bringing their curriculum to life in the most exciting way!

A huge thank you to Dany Green and Tutor Kemi for creacting such an inspiring experience. Our students walked away motivated, informed, and even more passionate about their future careers in science.
